1). We know the Julie at MO, A hard worker who sets goals and strives for them. What do you do outside of Momentum?
I work at the Owen-Withee School District as a Business and Information Technology teacher and I am the District Technology Coordinator. I have one son, BoJaymes, who is a senior this year and I love watching him play sports and grow into a great person. He loves the NY Yankees so we spend time together following this team and enjoying baseball.
2). What is a woo hoo moment you've had Cross Fitting?
My first pull up!! I've had many woo hoo moments at CrossFit (lifting, competing, gymnastics) is a whole new world for me. I didn't become an "athlete" until I was in my 40's, so there have been lots of firsts.
3). What is something you are working towards? What makes you so consistent at they gym?
I am a goal-oriented person and I enjoy setting goals, reaching them and setting new goals! I like to compete (that keeps me working hard). I sign up for many competitions, both running and CrossFit, and that keeps me motivated and on track.
4). Any quirks?
A gym-related quirk is my ability to not count the weight!! I psych myself out too easily and if I don't know how much weight I'm lifting, I can set new PR's!
5). What is something your MO family doesn't know about you?
A few years ago, I decided to commit to CrossFit. I travel quite a distance to get to a box, but I've made that commitment to myself and it's worth it! My box time is "me" time! I can focus on working out and hitting PRs and not think about anything else...it's my release! And it's worth the drive!
7). What is something you would NEVER do again?
Honestly, I don't know that I'd change the things I've done! Some of them have been pretty dumb, but they have made me who I am!! I did say that I'd never run another half marathon...but guess what? I'm signed up for the EC Half...had another goal!

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU)— Friday Night Lights is a five week competition that CrossFit gyms participate in around the world.
At Momentum Fitness in Eau Claire, it's a chance for members, regardless of age, strength, skill, or fitness level, to come to our gym and get the full CrossFit competition experience--without the high stakes, stress, or high prices that comes with a normal competition.
For the second year in a row, the donation will specifically go to fund children in need.
Momentum will will work directly with DeLong Middle School to appropriate the funds for kids who need school based mental health programs, when their parents don't have insurance to cover it or are in the process of applying for Badger Care.
It will also help provide basic items to help them stay in school such as fees for field trips, extracurricular activites and if needed any transportation to keep the student at school.

#MCM Man Crush Monday SAM!
I chose Momentum because I had a couple of friends who came here and told me how great crossfit is, and because I knew Breuer from high school (he was one of my football coaches).
WHAT WAS YOUR BEST " DROP THE MIC" MOMENT AT MOMENTUM?
I would say my first bar muscle up, a week after joining Momentum I worked on them for about 20 minutes and got my first one, or my PR in pullups during the Festivus Games, I think it was 33 unbroken.
IF YOU COULD GIVE EACH HEAD COACH A NICKNAME WHAT WOULD IT BE?
Jim- Rooster Cogburn - Badass cowboy played by John Wayne in True Grit.
Jackie- Sunshine – She’s always happy and in a great mood, even at 6 in the morning.
Craig- Baby Jesus - He did a great impression in the Christmas card.
Rachel- Boss- She always seems like she’s in charge.
WHAT'S ONE MOVIE YOU CAN WATCH OVER AND OVER AGIAN AND NEVER GET TIRED OF?
Tommy Boy or The Departed. I can’t decide which movie is actually my favorite.
WHAT'S THE MOST RIDICULOUS FACT YOU KNOW?
Slugs have four noses.
TOILET PAPER OVER OR UNDER?
WHAT SONG OR SONGS WERE POPULAR WHEN YOU WERE A SENIOR IN HIGH SCHOOL?
Barefoot Blue Jean Night by Jake Owen and Party Rock Anthem by LMFAO
TOP 3 THINGS YOU ARE MOST PROUD OF?
My friends and family
Golfing with Willie Nelson
WHAT ARE YOU TRAINING FOR?
In general just to stay in shape and have fun doing it, but also for competitions, like Eau Claire Gameday, Friday Night Lights, and hopefully the Granite Games this year.
WHO IS YOUR MAN CRUSH OR MEN CRUSHES IN MOMENTUM?
Both Loren Havemeier and Dave Carlson. When I go to class at 6 am I always look at Loren’s time/score and that’s what I try and beat (very rarely do I ever actually beat it), and Dave because I’ve seen him workout by himself and it seems like he can push himself as hard as when he’s working out in class or with someone else, and he keeps a steady pace throughout the entire workout, I struggle with both.
