Crockpot Paleo Beef Stew


1-1 1/2 pound Beef stew meat, cut into 1 inch cubes( if you shop at festival they already have this in their beef selection cubbed.)

1 medium yellow or white onion, chopped

1-2 cloves garlic, diced

3 medium carrots, chopped

2 celery sticks, chopped

1 medium sweet potato , peeled and chopped

Broth( beef,chicken or vegetable) add enough to cover all ingreadients in crockpot

1 can (14 oz.) diced, canned tomatoes

1 bay leaf

1 Tbsp. Italian seasoning

1/4 tsp Paprika

1/4 tsp ground allspice

1/2 tsp ground black pepper

1/2 tsp sea salt, to taste.

***Arrowroot optional**


1.) Put all ingredients into crockpot and turn temperature on high.  *** you can pre brown your meat tolockin the flavor that is what I do then I add that to the crockpot mixture**

2.) Set it and forget it.  Let it cook until the vegetables are tender and meat is cooked all the way through.  In my crockpot on high took around 5 hours but I also made a doule batch.

3.) If desired, the stew can be thickened towars teh end of cooking by mixing in 1-2 Tbsp of arrowroot powder.
